This prestigious competition, which encourages students worldwide to develop innovative digital solutions for mental health, has attracted a diverse group of experts to its judging panel.
Student Judges - Experts on Youth Voice & Tech for Good
Aliza Lopez is a pre-medical student majoring in Neuroscience and Health, Behavior, & Society with an intended minor in Legal Studies. Interested in the intersection of social and clinical sciences, Aliza is active in many impact-oriented spaces. She previously served on the Steering Committee for the 2023 Youth Peer Support Action Summit at Mental Health America and the Copeland Center, the Student Advisory Board at Neolth, and serves as the Founder & CEO of Medicine Encompassed.
Nandanaa Srikanth is a senior at Presentation High School and future Biomedical Engineering major. She is a Lead Student Mental Health Ambassador at Neolth, and a member of our Student Advisory Council. Her dedication to Neolth's mission continues to inspire us!
Arjuna Pandey is a high school student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a student advisor and student ambassador at Neolth. He is excited to review all of the submissions of the innovation challenge!
Srilasya Kamma has been a Student Ambassador with Neolth since 2023. As part of our Mental Health Literacy Committee, She participated in activities to increase awareness of domestic violence & digital mental health. At Liberty High School, Srilasya founded and operates the Psychology Club. She’s currently serving as the President, where she organizes meetings, plans events, and supervises members. The club’s goal is to increase understanding of the field of psychology, including mental health.
Industry Judges - Digital Mental Health Experts
Dr. Katherine Grill is the co-founder and CEO of Neolth. She received a BS in Art Therapy, MA in Psychology, and a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience. As a health tech executive, she has operational expertise in using digital interventions with adolescents and young adults. An esteemed speaker and author, she’s written 21 publications on mental health and student wellness and has received over 25 industry awards, like Forbes 30 Under 30, for her innovative work with Neolth.
Kenny Thomas is a former NBA star with a distinguished athletic career, including honors such as All-Western Athletic Conference and 2nd team All-America. Kenny has dedicated his post-basketball career to supporting youth across America through education and community initiatives. His basketball camps, collaboration with Neolth, and work as a mental health ambassador reflect his dedication to fostering youth wellbeing.
David Ball leads SecondMuse’s Headstream, an innovation program focused on sourcing and scaling innovations that address the complex intersection of technology and well-being for adolescents. Over the last decade, David has advised more than 100 social entrepreneurs to solve global environmental and social challenges. Currently based in Oakland, California, he continues leading that work at SecondMuse, collaborating with industry leaders, governments, and funders to scale these impactful innovations.
Dr. Jennifer Huberty is the Founder of Fit Minded In. She serves as a Fractional Chief Science Officer to multiple health tech companies and was previously the Director of Science at Calm. Dr. Huberty is an accomplished behavior research scientist with over 20 years of experience leading academic and industry-based science using digital approaches to change behavior and improve well-being. She's passionate about bridging the gap between science and entrepreneurship to create evidence-driven innovation in the health technology industry.
Each judge was selected for their unique perspective and commitment to advancing mental health solutions for teens. Their diverse expertise will ensure a comprehensive evaluation of the innovative submissions, all aimed at reimagining student mental health care across the continuum.
