Navya Nagelli is a senior at Plainfield North High School. She joins Neolth as a Student Advisor, to help the company in their continued commitment to improved product design & student-centered experiences.
Navya has been a student leader for her high school's ARK (Acts of Random Kindness) Club for the past three years. The club’s goal is to uplift students and staff members by helping them feel as welcomed in the school as possible. She is also a mental health researcher for a nonprofit organization, Just For You Tutoring, that raises awareness and helps students in need.
As someone who has struggled and has seen her peers struggle with mental health, Navya hopes to use her voice to spread the message that “it’s okay to not be okay”. Navya’s passion for raising awareness on mental health issues inspired her to join Neolth as a Student Ambassador earlier in 2022. She served as an Outreach and Marketing Intern and Lead for the Social Media Subcommittee before joining Neolth’s Student Advisory Board.
Navya believes that students are afraid to speak up about their struggles due to the large stigma around mental health. Students may fear being judged or misunderstood by their peers, therefore they choose to remain silent. In addition, many students feel ashamed for needing help. Navya hopes to reduce this stigma surrounding mental health issues and emphasize to students that there is no harm in seeking help. She is eager to work with Dr. Katherine Grill and the other council members to increase mental health resources for students!
When asked about Neolth, Navya said, "The stigma around mental health needs to be erased, and it all starts with us! It is important to use our platforms to speak up for those struggling with mental health---sparking my interest in Neolth's Student Advisory Board. We can all work together to improve student mental health for the better! There is always room for change, and I truly believe Neolth can help make a great difference in students' lives.”
Neolth is looking forward to working with Navya to support student wellbeing. Welcome Navya to the team!
